Anti-roll bars are a part of the suspension in that they help to control roll. They help out in corners and stiffen the suspension.
The anti-roll set-up has a major effect on how the car will behave in a corner: if it under-steers, soften the front anti-roll bar. If the car over-steers, soften the rear anti-roll bar.
